Richard Jenkins, age 65, of Reading, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016, in Philadelphia VA Medical Center.
He was the husband of Deborah (Woods) Jenkins. Born in Risenville, South Carolina, on June 2, 1951, he was the son of the late Bertha Jenkins.
Richard was a U S Marine veteran of the Vietnam War.
He had worked most of his life in security at Community General Hospital and St Joseph's Hospital.
Survived by his wife, Deborah (Woods) Jenkins; and daughter, Felicia Jenkins, of Reading; step-sons, Wayne Robertson and Edward Woods, of Reading; step-daughters, Scharlicia Miller, of Las Vegas, and Adrienne Meyers, of Reading. Also foster sons, Robert Jones, of Reading, and Jarmon Greene, of Norristown.
Other survivors include sisters, Carrie (Jenkins), wife of Ronald Lucas, and Mary Jenkins; brother, Jerry Jenkins, husband of Rose Jenkins; and many grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, William Jenkins.
A viewing will be Wednesday morning, June 22nd, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30a.m. from the Henninger Funeral Home, Inc., 229 North 5th Street, Reading. Funeral services will follow at 10:30a.m. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville at 1:30 p.m.
