Obituary for R. Jean Forry

R. Jean Forry, 89, of Wyomissing, PA, passed away peacefully at The Lutheran Home at Topton, Topton, PA, on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William R. Forry.

Born June 16, 1927, in Mt. Carmel, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gordon J. Rehnert and Ruth M. (Anthony) Rehnert. She was a 1945 graduate of Reading High School, Reading, PA.

Jean was a Legal Secretary beginning in 1945 with H. Franklin Brossman and then Samuel Liever, and then Secretary to Jacob Hain. In 1966 she was the Assistant Business Manager with the Wyomissing Area School District, being named Business Manager in 1969. Jean was recognized for 23 years of service, retiring in 1989.

Jean’s first date with Bill was on March 16, 1949, whom she later married on September 13, 1952. She was devoted to her family and was known for her love and care of others who were in need. In addition to her love of family, Jean enjoyed cooking, knitting, and playing cards and board games.

She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Reading, PA.

Jean is survived by two daughters, Lisa (Forry) Tanselle, Pittsboro, IN, and Lauren (Forry) Moran, Blandon, PA; sons-in-law, John Tanselle and Kelly Moran; and grandchildren, Ryan Tanselle, and wife Lauren Tanselle, Jason Tanselle, Samuel Moran, and Andrew Moran.

The family would like to thank neighbors, everyone at The Lutheran Home at Topton, and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care of Jean.

Services will be held at First United Church of Christ, Reed and Washington Streets, Reading, PA on Monday August 15th at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to the time of service at the church. Interment will follow service in Laureldale Cemetery.
