Obituary for Robert A. Bricker

Robert A. Bricker, 86, of Sinking Spring passed May 10th in Reading Hospital.
He was the widower of Barbara E. (McCoy) Bricker, who passed in 2010. Born in West Reading, Pa., he was the son of the late John H. Bricker Sr. and Sara (Schroeder) Bricker.
Robert was a graduate of Reading High School in 1949 and a graduate of Wyomissing Poly Tech Institute in 1953.
He served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in
Robesonia.
Robert retired from the United States Postal Service in 1989 after 31 years as a mail carrier, mostly in the West Lawn area.
He was a member of Reading Lodge #549 F&AM for over 60 years, where he served many years as the Lodge Tyler. He also was a 50-year plus member of the Scottish Rite Consistory, where he received the Meritorious Service Award and had served as the director of the Wardrobe Dept. for many years.
Robert was a volunteer fireman with the West
Wyomissing Fire Company and was a life member of the Riverside and Berks County Fire Departments.

He is survived by a son, Robert K. Bricker husband of Bernice (Kreitz) Bricker of Myerstown, daughter, Robin L. (Bricker) Wagar of Robesonia, grandchildren, Pamela S. Wagar, Melissa A. Boulanger and Michael A. Bricker, sister, Jeanne L. Haines and a brother, E. William Bricker. He was pre-deceased by brothers, John H. Bricker Jr. and Lee C. Bricker and a sister, S. Kathryn (Bricker) Keeler.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in
Henninger Funeral Home Inc., 229 N. 5th St., Reading. Viewings will be held Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and again Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Reading Lodge #549 Masonic Funeral Service will be held Monday at 8 p.m. during the viewing. Entombment with military honors will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
