James E. Gaylor, 87, passed away on September 18, 2017 at the Reading Hospital. He was born in Nash County, North Carolina to the late Chester and Louella (Harrison) Gaylor. Preceded in death are his parents, sisters: Georgia McCullom, Geneva Boddie and Mary L. Hunter, brothers: Charlie Gaylor, Lonnie and Leon Boddie, daughter Joyce Regina Isaac and son James Milton Gaylor. He is survived by his wife, Shirley(Singleton) Gaylor of Mt. Penn, Pa., children: Larry Cooper, Washington, D.C.; Wilbert Morgan, Reading, Pa.; Chester (Roxanne) Gaylor, Reading, Pa.; Jerome K. Singleton, Reading, Pa.; Martha C. Singleton, Richmond, Va.; Jeffrey M. Singleton,Fremont, Ne.; Tammi L. Singleton, Reading, Pa.; Timmy (Nichole) Singleton, Reading, Pa., 2 sisters: Louella Reeves and Elizabeth Powell, 2 brothers David and Doris Boddie, 40 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren. Services will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Union Baptist Church, 211 Schuylkill Ave. in Reading. Viewing is from 9-11am, and the service is to follow immediately after. Henninger Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
