Mildred "Millie" Lorah
Mildred C. Lorah, “Millie” of Reading, passed away December 31, 2017 in Reading. Born in Reading, October 31, 1919 she was a daughter of deceased parents Harrison and Ellen (Hafer) Lorah. She had five siblings who all have passed on. She has a niece, Alverda Zook of Yonks, PA and a nephew H. Edwin Lapp of Paradise, PA and she has numerous cousins. Millie was fortunate to be blessed with a couple of close personal friends who were like family; Anabelle Axler of Reading, PA and Elenanor Sonas who has passed on.
Mildred had worked at the Hamburg Hospital, the Blend Association, St Joseph’s Hospital, and the Reading Hospital from where she retired.
Millie was very friendly and had a greeting for everyone whether on the bus, in the doctor’s office, or in a restaurant. She enjoyed walking and until health problems kept her from going out, she could be seen walking on Penn Street or eating breakfast at the Boston House.
