Obituary for Charles A. Paplosky

Charles A. Paplosky Jr, 71, of Sinking Spring, Pa. passed away Friday, January 12th 2018 in St. Joseph's Hospital. Born June 14, 1946 in Reading, he was the son of the late Charles and Matilda (Krawczyk) Paplosky.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jean (Fleming) Paplosky.
He is also survived by sons Ric Paplosky and his companion Valerie Tolland, Gouglersville, Pa., and Ron Paplosky and his companion Lynae Walb, of Reading. He has one brother, Joseph Paplosky and his wife Barbara (Mietelski) Paplosky, Exeter Twp.

Charlie was a 1964 graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School.

In his teen years he was a founding member of the ROAD ROMANS Rod & Custom Car Club in Reading. Charlie and his wife started their business Paplosky's Speed & Custom at 12th & Greenwich Sts. 50 years ago. In 1975 they moved to their current location in Sinking Spring. He spent years working multiple jobs and doing side work to finance his dream. His faith in God led him to live a good life and he would do everything to help his family, friends, and customers. Charlie had a love of anything automotive, including antiques, street rods, classics, and all kinds of race cars, participating in drag racing and sports car events. Motorcycle rides with his wife were often enjoyed. He was also a very gifted self-taught musician proudly playing harmonica with the Dave Mell Blues Band. He was inducted into the Berks County Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.

A visitation will be held from 9 – 11AM on Saturday Jan. 27th at the Spring Valley Church of God at 2727 Old Pricetown Rd, in Temple, Pa 19560. Memorial service will follow at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to City Light Ministries, 246 N. 9th St., Reading Pa 19601 or Spring Valley Church of God at the above address.
