Obituary for Concetta T. Ninfo (Farina)

Concetta T. Ninfo, 98, of West Lawn, passed March 15th in Mifflin Center, Shillington.

She was the widow of Samuel S. Ninfo Sr.

Born in San Severo, Italy she was the daughter of Giuseppe and Libera (Benaduce) Farina.

During World War II she worked as a telephone operator in Italy and later as a seamstress.

She was a member of Holy Rosary RCC, Reading.

Concetta especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as sewing, knitting, crochet, cooking and gardening.

She is survived by a son, Samuel S. Ninfo Jr. husband of Heather (Gutierrez) Ninfo, daughters, Maria L. Gilbert wife of Mark Gilbert and Anna Maria Esterly widow of Robert Esterly and companion of David Weidenhammer, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by 4 sisters and 1 brother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 AM in Holy Rosary RCC, 237 Franklin St. Reading. A viewing will be held Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 AM in Henninger Funeral Home, Inc. 229 N. 5th St. Reading. Interment will be private in Gethsemane Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Mifflin Center, 400 Unit, for their compassionate care they provided Concetta during her stay.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Holy Rosary RCC or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
