Obituary for Sandra "Honey" Youngerman (Wasserman)

Sandra “Honey” Youngerman, 80, Muhlenberg Township, passed away in BVN Hospice care at Manor Care, Laureldale on 10/14/2014.
Born in Reading 12/13/1933, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Fannie Wasserman.
She is survived by her husband of 60 Years, Sanford “Sy” Youngerman; three sons, Hank, Reading; Mitchell and wife Jamie, Pittsburgh area; and Brian and wife Denise, Mt. Joy, PA; and grandsons Benjamin and Ryan; and a sister Frances in FL.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Edith Spector and Harriette Lipsitz.
Honey graduated from Reading High in 1951 and Penn State in 1955 with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught in the Reading District for one year and in Las Cruces, NM for one year. When she returned to Reading she substituted for many years while raising her family. She then worked in several local nursery schools, including the Jewish Community Center where she helped mold the lives of many young children, and her most rewarding job in the infant room of the Goddard School with babies 6 weeks to 11 months old.
Services will be held at Kesher Zion Synagogue on Sunday Oct. 19th at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Kesher Zion Cemetery.
