Richard Ortiz, loving husband and father, 49, passed July 11th in Reading Hospital at 9:51 AM.

He was the husband of Jessica (Diaz) Ortiz.

Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of Angel L. and Nilda L. Ortiz.

He is also survived by 6 children, Angel, Richard Jr., Alan, Vanessa, La’Raina, and Princeton; 3 brothers, Frank, Louis, and Julio Figueroa; 2 sisters, Awilda Rodriguez and Araceliz (Rodrigues) Sanchez; 8 grandchildren and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Richard was a barber in Reading where he cut hair in many barbershops throughout the area.

He was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he enjoyed playing dominoes and darts with his family.

He was loved by many and had a good sense of humor, he loved to make people laugh and would help out anyone.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 AM in St. Peter’s RCC, Reading. Viewings will be held Sunday 6 to 8 PM and Monday 8 to 9 AM in Henninger Funeral Home, Inc., 229 N. 5th St., Reading. Interment will be in Charles Evans Cemetery.
