Born in Mexico, he was the son of Pedro Ruiz and Adela Espinoza.
He is also survived by a daughter, Leslie M. Ruiz, brothers, Jose G. Ruiz and Fernando Ruiz, sister, Mariela Ruiz, nephew, Christopher Torres, niece, Perla A. Ruiz, brother in law, Angel Torres and several cousins and uncles.
