Obituary for Theodore W. "Ted" Debkowski

Theodore “Ted” Debkowski, 62, of Reinholds, passed away January 28th at Tower Health Reading Hospital due to COVID (even though he wore a mask and practiced social distancing).

Teddy was born in Reading, PA on January 10th, 1959. He was the son of the late Jacqueline (Trumbore) Debkowski Miuccio.

He is survived by his devoted wife and soul mate of 36 ½ years, Barbara (Ulrich) Debkowski. They were known as Peanut Butter and Jelly as they were always together.

In addition to his wife, Ted is also survived by his sisters, Brenda J., wife of Jon Simchick of Kenhorst; Tina M., wife of John Althouse of Shillington; Connie L., wife of Richard Whitford of Reading; Christine Mallon of Reading and a brother, John K. Debkowski of Bernville; father in law, Samuel Ulrich of Sinking Spring, sister in law, Kay Lynn Ulrich of Sinking Spring and her boyfriend Will Schleppy; brother in law, Michael Kantner of Laureldale; Aunt Joyce Koehn, cousins, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Ted was pre-deceased by his sisters, Kelly Kantner and Vicki Souder, wife of Greg of West Lawn.

Teddy would want to be remembered for his love of his family, friends, and all animals. Especially his past children with fur, his current cats, Niko, Kitty and furever friend Sanji.

Teddy had a great sense of humor and loved making people laugh. He was a kind hearted, generous, beautiful, sensitive soul. He had a smile that lit up the room.

He knew how to do many things. He loved his candy, Tillamook ice cream, playing games, watching our favorite TV shows, Cracker Barrel trips, all Philadelphia sports teams, Penn State Football and Villanova basketball.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the following organizations: Animal Rescue League of Berks County, Humane Society of Berks County or Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue, Reinholds.

A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at a future date, when it is safe, so that no one else has to suffer a heartbreaking loss from this horrible disease.
