Henry Spafford, 77, of Reading, PA died of cancer, Saturday August 13, 2022 at Reading Hospital & Medical Center, West Reading.
Born in Philadelphia, Henry was the son of the late Henry Watson Spafford and Elizabeth Spafford.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Evangeline Spafford, 2 sons, David John Spafford, Steven Michael Spafford, husband of Betty Spafford, grandson, Steven Michael Spafford Jr. and a step-grandson, Tony Figueroa.
Henry served with the U.S. Air Force in Korea during the Vietnam War the last year of his 4 year enlistment.
He worked at General Battery 21 years and Deka Battery for 24 years.
Beginning in 2003, Henry survived cancer 6 times previously. He loved life and often wore clothing with the logo “Life is Good”.
Henry had many interests which included fishing, photography, stamp collecting, history of the American West and Native Americans.
Funeral service will be held Monday August 22nd at 11 AM in Henninger Funeral Home, 229 N. 5th St. Reading. Interment will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 AM to the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made in Henry’s name to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
