Edward J 'Ed' Esser, 91years old, passed away on Sunday Sept. 4, 2022 in his Exeter township home surrounded by his loving family. Ed was the loving husband of Geraldine (Rittle) with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Born January 21, 1931 in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Stewart Esser Sr. and Florence (Forman) Esser. Ed grew up in Reading and graduated from Reading High School. He then served in both the Army and Navy and was a Korean War veteran. He was employed by Met-Ed for 35 years. Ed was an avid golfer and bowler until he turned 88. Surviving in addition to his wife, are 2 children, Keith husband of Lisa Esser of Mt. Penn and Kathy, wife of Mike Foltz of Douglassville. Grandson Mitch Esser finance Christina and great grandson Carter Esser. And his sisters Pearl, Karen, Judy, and brother Gerald. The Esser family is honoring Ed’s wishes of cremation and no services.
