Sean Anthony Peterson Sr., 55, of Reading, sadly transitioned Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 10:45 am in The Reading Hospital surrounded by his daughters. Born and raised in Reading, PA he was the son of the late Eugene Tanner and Nancy Lou Peterson McCoy Kelly, Step Father Larry Kelly. Sean was an amazing upholsterer, he could make, fix, and sew almost anything but was especially exceptional with bringing furniture back to life. Sean was a Man of God and an active committed member of Holy Trinity Church of God. Even in his sickness he served in the church as security, a YES Mentor to the youth, and a member of the finance, facilities, and the Men’s Life Builders Ministry. He leaves behind to cherish his memory Curtis Peterson (Traci, wife), Alexis Peterson, Jordhan Peterson (“Big Dawg”), Brandon Peterson, Shawna Peterson, Travis Blair, Sean Peterson, Jr., Justice Peterson, & 18 grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Eugene Peterson, Denise Peterson, Amanda Asberry, Vernon Peterson, David McCoy, Geneva Debooth, and Ronnie McCoy. Also surviving is his beloved “G” Paige M. Brookins, pet- Queen, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and tons of people he called brothers and sisters. Sean was predeceased by his older brother Curtis Peterson and loving older sister Brenda Burdine. Sean was also predeceased by his dear partner Tracy Wentzel, who she left behind, Alexis Pruitt and Alisha Wentzel.
Sean was a Reading High School graduate, Class of 1984, graduated from votech for upholstery, drove limousines with the most grace & class. Worked as an upholster and a Reading Eagle Newspaper Carrier for many years.
Sean had a kind heart and would do anything for anyone. He was especially proud to be a Father and a Pop-Pop. He was a Die Hard Eagles Fan, and was upset that they broke their winning streak 7-1.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 10 a.m. in Henninger Funeral Home, 229 N. 5th Street, Reading Pa 19601. Repass will be at the American Legion 237 N. 3rd Street Reading Pa 19601.
