Jacob M. Jaffe, 96, formerly of Silver Spring, M.D., passed away at the Highlands, Wyomissing, June 25th, 2012.
He was predeceased by his wonderful wife of 62 years, Frances S. (Schreiber) Jaffe.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Hyman and Bessie (Meskin) Jaffe.
He was a tax consultant for the U.S. Government in Washington D.C. and also for several foreign governments. He was affiliated with the Brookings Institute and volunteered for many years for Common Cause.
He was a long time member of Temple Sinai in Washington D.C. and was currently a member of Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom, Wyomissing.
He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Brooklyn College and a Master’s Degree from N.Y.U. in Public Administration.
He was a veteran of WWII serving with the Army.
He is survived by, daughters, Roslyn (Jaffe) wife of Bernard A. Cohen and Dr. Annette R. (Jaffe) wife of Dr. Sean B. Peppard, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held Thursday, July 26th at 7:00 P.M. in Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom, 555 Warwick Drive, Wyomissing, PA 19610. Interment will be private at King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA.
