Best Boss
I'm so sad to hear news of Mr. K's passing. ( we all called him Mr. K when we were employed at House of Leather ). I can honestly say no one had a greater impact on my life than Mr. Krumholz. I was a newly wed back in 1975-76 or there about when I first met him. He was kind enough to take a chance on a very unsophisticated, inexperienced young woman,, Me! I knew nothing of the retail world, didn't really know very much about anything. Through his kindness and guidance I grew to be a confident business woman and went on to work for some really great companies like Coach,, Brooks Brothers and the Sara Lee Company. He was the most generous, understanding boss I have ever had the pleasure of working for/with. Every Thanksgiving he gifted everyone a beautiful fruit basket,, at Christmas, the best party ever, followed by a cash bonus when it was so needed! When I was due to give birth to our son Eli, ( a name from Mr. Freedson ) Mr. Krumholz was kind enough to hire a driver to get Sherie and I to New York for buying. After the arrival of Eli, he paid my full salary until I returned to work that fall. It was over the top generous and unfortunately I have never been blessed again to work for anyone who even comes close to this wonderful man. I loved him like a father, a good friend and great teacher. As you know I lost Frank 8 years ago and can't express how touched I was to see all of you at his service. It meant a great deal to me. I just lost my dear Mother on May 9th of this year. She was 2 weeks short of being 93 years old.. It is always so sad to lose a loved one and words never really ease anyone's pain. Please accept my sincerest condolences. Deany Cameron
